Castles
Oberhofen Castle. Magic from 8 centuries

Thun Castle
The imposing castle with its four turrets stands above the town of Thun. The historical museum spread over 5 floors of the castle showcases the cultural development of the area over a 4000 year period.
Schloss Hünegg - fairytale on Lake Thun
It is as if time stood still 100 years ago…. Travel back in time to the enchanting Art Nouveau era. It really is as if time stood still in this home. Beautifully furnished, each room leaves the visitor with the impression that the owner has just stepped out for a moment – perhaps to enjoy the magnificent view from the surrounding park. The Schlosscafe and Schlosskeller are the ideal places for family or group events in a uniquely beautiful setting.

MUMM
The MUMM invites you on a fascinating journey through five centuries of creative craftsmanship – bringing the instruments to life. Clocks and mechanical musical instruments are on display in the historical rooms of this medieval vineyard home.
House of Music
Kurt Matter has collected around 300 mechanical musical instruments over a period of 30 years. The instruments can be admired on three floors of this home.

Museums for art lovers
Thun Art Museum
In a former luxury hotel beautifully situated on the river Aare, this small but fine museum primarily presents contemporary art and features young artists. A diverse exhibition program with four to five temporary exhibitions per year addresses new themes and reflect trends in contemporary art.
Thun Panorama
The Thun Panorama is one of the oldest surviving cycloramas in the world. Created by the Basel artist, Marquard Wocher, in 1814, the cyclorama measures 38 meters in length and is located in the middle of the beautiful Schadaupark in Thun. The Thun-Panorama is open from March until the end of November.
Art Museum Bern
The oldest art museum in Switzerland has a collection from the Gothic period to the present day. The collection includes over 3,000 paintings and sculptures as well as around 48,000 drawings, prints, photographs, videos and films. Its collections of Classical Modernism is considered to be of particular international significance. Since 2019 Cornelius Gurlitt`s collection has been integrated into the existing collection.
Zentrum Paul Klee Bern
The Zentrum Paul Klee is an international center of excellence for researching, communicating, and presenting the person, life and work of Paul Klee as well as its reception. Because of Paul Klee’s diverse artistic activities, the center is does not limit itself only to the presentation of Klee’s artistic work, but is also a platform for music, theatre, dance, literature, and other interdisciplinary forms of artistic expression. A special feature is the Creaviva children’s museum in the center.
